Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Maintain Customs and Excise Tax compliance across all Mexico plants (Tultitlán, Arandas, Atotonilco el Alto), including import/export operations, tariff classification, valuation, and origin.
Implement and perform end-to-end process reviews, identifying non-conforming practices and ensuring compliance in customs procedures such as import, export, customs bonded warehouse, Route to Market initiatives, import duties payments, excise duty calculation, and any other applicable Customs or Excise Tax matters.
Lead, manage, and respond on time to customs authority requirements, visits, or audits.
Ensure implementation, documentation, and regular review of the physical and electronic tax stamps applied in all Mexico plants (Tultitlán, Arandas, Atotonilco el Alto). Includes performing process compliance assessments regarding documentation, inventory control, evidence of destruction, and managing the relationship and communication with the Tax Authority (SAT).
Act as the internal compliance officer for inbound-outbound of raw material, semi-finished, and finished goods, reviewing operational flows, inventory control, and documentation maintenance.
Bring control and efficiency to customs programs like IMMEX, AEO, and Certification in VAT/IEPS.
Be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert for Mexico across business stakeholders, monitoring legislation changes, delivering technical training, and leading process improvements in customs procedures.
Ensure all IT systems used in Mexico are correctly set up for reporting to C&E Authorities and request amendments if needed (DACORE reporting, IPC set-up in Origin, Customs Tariff Classification, ExT rate, etc.).
Experience
Alcoholic beverage industry with Mexican Customs and Excise Tax (IEPS) law.
Key customs areas: customs tariff classification, customs valuation, determination of origin (preferential and non-preferential).
NOM 142, IMMEX Program, Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), Certification VAT and IEPS.
Government platforms: “Ventanilla Única (VUCEM)”.
Tax/fiscal warehouse compliance in Mexico.
Physical and electronic tax stamps regulation.
Excise Tax and Customs legislation in Mexico.
Interpretation and application of Free Trade Agreements.
Local and international transit, export, and import procedures.
Free Sales Certificate (FSC - CLV).
Academic Requirements
Education: University degree related to Customs, International Trade, or Administration.
Work Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in Customs, Excise Tax, and Trade compliance.
Competencies
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify patterns, flag non-compliance practices, and deliver insights.
Ability to manage and deliver government requirements on time and build strong relationships with customs authorities.
Process-oriented with the capacity to implement business efficiencies.
Ability to communicate effectively with senior management in a clear and concise manner.
Ability and willingness to work in an international environment.

Native: Spanish
Intermediate: English
